I drew this out in '03, ostensibly meant to be the land layer of a Mississippi Delta Terraform. I was going to paint all the itty land bits farm orange and then make a sweeping gloss black sea/base layer with all kinds of swirls and juts and curliques coming out the delta. But after fifteen hours of just drawing and tracing every little tributary and canal in southeast Louisiana, I kinda realized this project would be really complicated, take forever, and may never sell. So I scrapped it, but I still have the MDF layer I worked it all out on to show you for some reason. And yeah, after Katrina, all these waterways and landforms may now have shifted - it is indeed hard to map a place constantly sculpted by the flow of one of the largest rivers in the world... |
